planets are closer to us like "gliese 581 g" which is only 20 light years far but it is not a distance that we can cover easily with present technology.There a number of habitable planets that can support life.Astronomers have found more than 700 planets beyond our solar system, and thousands more await confirmation by follow-up observations. Many of these alien worlds are too hot or too cold to support life as we know it, but researchers have found a few that appear to be much more hospitable.

Gliese 581 g:
The controversial exoplanet Gliese 581 g is the best candidate to host life beyong our own solar system,according to a new ranking of potentially habitable planets.
Gliese 581g appeared on the the list of potentialy habitable planets by the researchers at the University of Puerto Rico at Arecibo's Planetary Habitability Laboratory(PHL).
The exoplanet was discovered in 2010,but other astronomers began casting on it's existence just a week later.
